Our story

Your hearing, our passion

The Chepstow Hearing Clinic was established within The Hearing Clinic Group to provide Chepstow and the Forest of Dean with personal, family-run hearing care.

We supply all major hearing aid brands, which allows us to recommend the option best suited to each patient's hearing and lifestyle. To date, we have cared for more than 4,000 patients, many of them from our local community.

Asa Richards, HCPC-registered Hearing Aid Dispenser (HAD03388), leads clinical care and is a member of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA). In 2019, Asa was selected for the Demant Stars Academy, one of 80 hearing care professionals chosen worldwide.

Clinical Director

Asa Richards

Asa has spent over a decade in audiology: as a clinical director for a multinational hearing care provider, as a clinical lecturer training the next generation, and now running two independent clinics of his own. He’s HAD qualified, HCPC registered, and a member of BSHAA. In 2019 he was chosen for the Demant Stars Academy, a global programme that selects just 80 hearing care professionals worldwide. He founded The Chepstow Hearing Clinic in 2022 and The Clevedon Hearing Clinic in 2023; together they’ve now cared for more than 8,000 patients.

Stephen Dymond

Stephen has been in audiology for over 10 years and holds the HAD qualification alongside his BSHAA membership. He sees patients through the whole journey, from that first assessment right through to fitting and aftercare. What people mention most is how calm he is, and how clearly he explains what’s actually going on with your hearing.

Stacey Hole-Burton

Stacey joined in 2023, bringing over a decade of patient-facing experience from the optical industry. She runs the day-to-day at Chepstow, so she’s usually the first voice you hear on the phone or the first face you see walking in. Making that first moment feel easy matters to her, and it shows.

Rebecca Smith

Rebecca spent 20 years in dentistry, working her way up to Dental Nurse Trainer before switching to hearing care. Now she works alongside our clinicians during your appointment, keeping things clear and calm so you always know what’s happening next.

Kimberley Richards

Kimberley helped get the clinic off the ground in 2022 and has stuck around ever since. She came from design and teaching, and now looks after branding, the website and marketing. Her job, really, is making sure what you see online feels like the clinic you’ll actually walk into.

Cora is Office Manager over at The Clevedon Hearing Clinic, and covers Chepstow from time to time too. Wherever she is, the aim’s the same: your visit runs smoothly and you feel looked after.

Locum Receptionist

Graeme Steele

Graeme has been with The Hearing Clinic Group since 2022. He came from insurance, IT and maths, which makes for a fairly varied job now: covering reception at both clinics, fixing whatever’s gone wrong with the computers, and once or twice building furniture on short notice. Dry sense of humour, completely dependable, and patients warm to him fast.

We're one of two clinics in The Hearing Clinic Group, founded by our Clinical Director Asa Richards. Chepstow opened first, in 2022, followed by The Clevedon Hearing Clinic in 2023.

Both clinics share the same founder and the same clinical standards, which means unhurried appointments, honest advice and all major hearing aid brands. Together the clinics have supported over 8,000 patients across South Wales and the South West.
