Monmouth is the county town, home of the Monnow Bridge, the only remaining fortified river bridge gate in Britain, and of Shire Hall, where the Chartist leaders were tried in 1840. It is a place people are proud of, and one where independent shops still line Monnow Street. That suits us. We are the same kind of business: locally owned, and run by the people you meet.
Since we opened in 2022 we have seen a steady stream of patients from Monmouth, Wyesham, Osbaston, Overmonnow and the villages along the Wye. Many first came for ear wax removal after struggling to get a GP appointment for it, and stayed for their hearing tests and hearing aids.

Is there a hearing clinic in Monmouth?
Monmouth has no independent audiology clinic with its own consulting rooms. The Chepstow Hearing Clinic is around 30 minutes away via the A466 Wye Valley road, with free parking, and we also offer home visits in Monmouth.
How far is Chepstow from Monmouth?
About 16 miles. The A466 through Tintern takes around 30 minutes; the A40, A449 and M4 route via Newport takes a similar time and is easier in bad weather.
Can I get to the clinic from Monmouth by bus?
Yes. The 69 bus runs from Monmouth to Chepstow through the Wye Valley. Get off in Chepstow town centre and the School Hill Centre is a five-minute walk.
Do you offer ear wax removal for Monmouth patients?
Yes. Microsuction and irrigation by trained clinicians at our Chepstow clinic, up to £65 for both ears with £10 off for returning patients. Use olive oil drops for three to five days beforehand.

Is parking easier at your clinic than in Monmouth?
Yes. Monnow Street parking in Monmouth is limited and often metered; we have free parking directly outside the clinic in Chepstow.
How do I get to Chepstow from Monmouth without a car?
The 69 bus runs from Monmouth through the Wye Valley to Chepstow. It is a scenic route and stops in the town centre, a five-minute walk from the clinic.
