Ear wax removal in Caldicot and south Monmouthshire

What to check before booking

Training for ear wax removal varies a lot between providers. Whoever you book with, ask who will carry out the treatment and what training they have. At The Chepstow Hearing Clinic, ear wax removal is carried out by trained clinicians, and clinical care is led by an HCPC-registered Hearing Aid Dispenser.

What the appointment includes

• An ear examination with a video otoscope, with images shown on screen before and after treatment
• Microsuction or water irrigation, chosen according to what the ears need
• Same-day and next-day appointments, frequently available
• A complimentary hearing screening where appropriate

Preparing for your appointment

Use olive oil drops, or Earol spray, twice a day for three to five days before the appointment. This softens the wax and helps it to be removed in a single visit. It is particularly important for hearing aid wearers, as wax tends to build up more quickly. The clinic is at School Hill Centre, Chepstow NP16 5PH, with free parking outside.

Prices and booking

Ear wax removal costs up to £65 for one or both ears, including an ear examination before treatment. If there is little or no wax, the clinician will tell you. The appointment fee still applies, because the examination is part of it. Appointments can be booked online or by calling 01291 332211.
